Description

The Clair-Obscur is a seating furniture piece designed by Bataille & Ibens in 1994. Standing at 1.4 meters tall, this striking piece is characterized by its square volume, inspired by an alcove and a bergère. It accommodates two people, who can observe the space around them through a horizontal slit at mid-height, remaining protected from their surroundings.

The Clair-Obscur encapsulates much of Bataille & Ibis' design philosophy. It is a geometrically shaped capsule that is both user-friendly and intimate, creating a haven of security. The design combines uncompromising materiality with a thematic application of white and gray tones, playing in a distinctive way with space and perspective.

In good solid condition, but some scratches and signs of use.

Perfectly in combination with our 1.4-meter square coffee table by Bataille & Ibens.
