Description
The Platner side tables, designed by Warren Platner for Knoll, are among the most recognizable icons of mid-century American design.
Introduced in the 1960s as part of Platner’s celebrated collection for Knoll, the design sought to bring a softer and more decorative expression to modernism. By transforming steel rods into elegant sculptural forms, Platner created furniture that feels both light and sophisticated, while maintaining the clarity and precision associated with the modern movement.
The signature base, composed of a multitude of finely welded steel rods, creates a striking play of light and shadow while giving the tables their distinctive architectural character. The circular glass tops enhance the lightness of the design, creating an elegant contrast with the intricate steel base. The result is a design that appears almost weightless despite its robust construction.
These side tables are offered individually, allowing them to be placed separately throughout an interior or combined to create a harmonious pair.
Both tables are presented in perfect condition and can be purchased individually or as a set. They are available to view in our showroom at Volkstraat 58, Antwerp.
