This sculptural edition beautifully illustrates Tapta's enduring fascination with movement, balance and modular construction. Four flexible neoprene elements are connected by articulated hinges and supported by a minimalist metal base, creating a composition that can be perceived as both stable and constantly evolving.

Characteristic of Tapta's mature practice, the work transforms industrial materials into a remarkably elegant sculptural language in which softness and rigidity coexist. Rather than presenting sculpture as a fixed object, she invites the viewer to experience it as a living presence that changes according to perspective, light and the surrounding space.

Tapta, pseudonym of the Polish-Belgian sculptor Maria Wierusz-Kowalski (1926–1997), arrived in Belgium as a political refugee after the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 and trained as a weaver at La Cambre in Brussels. From the late 1980s she turned from textile to industrial neoprene, joining rubber panels with metal fittings into open, articulated structures. She led La Cambre's textile workshop, from 1976 to 1990, shaping a generation of Belgian sculptors.
